Vicryl (polyglactin 910) is an absorbable, synthetic, usually braided suture. A monofilament version is also made for use in ophthalmic practice. It is indicated for soft tissue approximation and ligation. Coated VICRYL Suture is a synthetic absorbable sterile surgical suture composed of a copolymer made from 90% glycolide and 10% Llactide.1 Coated VICRYL Suture is indicated for use in general soft tissue approximation and/or ligation, including use in ophthalmic procedures, but not for use in neurological tissues.
