The 3M IV Kit for Peripheral Lines is meant for IV site care of peripheral devices and safe & secure catheter placement. The kit has 4 items: Latex free tourniquet, Chlorhexidine Gluconate (CHG) swab, Tegaderm 1633 dressing (transparent film dressing with border) 8.5cm * 7cm, Sterile gauze swab. The film is breathable thus allowing for moisture and oxygen exchange. The CHG swab contains 2% CHG and 70% IPA (isopropyl alcohol) and is meant for prepping the insertion site. The sterile gauze swab is used to handle any back flash from the site. The latex free tourniquet is a single use device and meant for location of the vein. The adhesive is latex free and hence hypoallergenic. The dressing is conformable to the shape of the skin.
