Atropine Sulphate Injection is indicated as an antisialogogue in anaesthetic premedication to reduce or prevent secretions in the respiratory tract. Atropine increases sinus rate and sinoatrial and AV conduction by blocking vagal tone. The heart rate is usually increased but is sometimes preceded by an initial bradycardia.
